REVISITING CLASSIC CUT STRUCTURE
with Gill Berry

Educated by Joshua Galvin at the London College of Fashion, Gill was one of only a few students to achieve the Practical Merit Award.

Love of technique has stayed with Gill throughout her career and resulted in her many awards and accolades.

Recently Gill has been a member of the Joico European Design Team, travelling the world educating fellow hairdressers and taking part in many photo and video shoots.

This session is most suitable for:
Hairdressers who have worked on the floor for 3+ years and want to refresh classic design lines, sharpening their skill set and building confidence.

TEXTURED HAIR
with Michelle Thompson

Michelle Thompson is widely thought of as one of the most talented textured hairstylists in Europe. She has carved a niche specialising in diverse hair types and is the go-to stylist for leading publications such as Stylist Magazine, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Spell, Black Beauty & Hair and Hairdressers Journal.

Join us at Laceys Studio for an informative day with Michelle while she shares her expert knowledge. You’ll be given a warm welcome and will leave with an abundance of new knowledge and confidence with afro and textured hair.

To enable plenty of interaction, we are limiting the course participants to just 8, so advise you to book soon as we anticipate a high demand.

This session is most suitable for:
Hairdressers with several years experience who’d like a better understanding of afro and textured hair.

What you’ll learn:

  • The essential guide to working with afro and textured hair. The day will cover the fundamental basics on working with textured hair, give you an insight on how to identify different curl patterns, what each pattern needs, and choosing the correct product selection for each curl type.

    • Identifying hair types 3 & 4
    • Product knowledge for textured hair
    • Model demonstration
    • Consultation and backwash preparation
    • Tools and equipment
    • Top tips on diffusing, shingling, finger coiling, bantu knot outs, twist outs, braid outs, natural drying, and setting afro and textured hair
    • Sectioning
    • Hands-on practical with live models and mannequins

What to bring: What to bring: Hairdryer with diffuser, carbon tail comb, pin tail comb, Denman brush (7 row), Denman paddle brush, strong clips/claw section clips (not butterfly clips), afro pick.

  • The day will showcase classic cuts and how to incorporate into the latest trends.
  • Tips on styling techniques and products
  • Demonstrations from Gill
  • Hands-on workshop with mannequin heads

What to bring: Your essential hairdressing kit - scissors, razor, hair dryer/diffuser, round brushes, Denman brush, paddle brush, tail comb, pin tail comb, wide tooth comb, cutting comb, flat iron, wand/ tongs, section clips.
